                  Crapaudine means Lady Toad and is a reference to the skin of this beet! If I was a Lady Toad I think I'd feel a bit miffed at being compared to a beetroot

                        Damn. Thought I was going to be clever for a mo by suggesting Winter Radish (see photo), but just looked that unfortunately named beetroot variety up and you're dead right Kilbarron.
