You can always freeze (or otherwise preserve) extra to see you through the winter when there is nothing growing

Seems reasonable to me - if you have the space and time...At least you won't have a glut of courgettes and runners, (normally the worst)...How big is your family/friends list/freezer?...oh just seen that you answered that.

Important point is to grow what you actually like to eat. Sow little and often to spread the season

I find that the things that I most enjoy are sweetcorn and asparagus that just don't taste the same unless freshly picked.(plus they are expensive to buy)

If you've got the room - bang 'em in!

Sounds like a good spread of crops, virtually everything vegetable there, but no fruit?

A few raspberry canes, some strawbs, rhubarb and some goosegogs would be the only additions I would recommend! Soft fruits usually crop well and are expensive to buy (and dont taste nearly as good as home grown)

Are you growing multiple varieties of each type of veg? Having a couple of varieties does give greater chance of cropping (as if one fails the other may well do ok) aswell as allowing for staggering of crops (think about first early, 2nd early, early maincrop and late maincrop spuds, or early, mid and late varieties, or just successional sow for a longer harvesting period!)

Our first years growing plan is on this link below. Being naiive at the time I planned it to the last seedling, not really necessary, but did give us a good idea of what we could fit onto the plot!

Hope it all grows well for you!
                Blessings

Do you eat much celery? It's difficult to get a decent crop and requires a lot of attention. I wouldn't bother unless another grape can advise otherwise.

I'd try kohlrabi instead, much easier than other brassicas.

I don't think you can ever grow to much, there is always someone willing to take spare veg of you. I had 4 cabbage the other day (wanted to clear the bed) and they were soon snaffled by other plot holders.

Well, sadly I know of people who accept veg off their neighbours out of politeness but don't actually like the veg in question (courgettes) and bin it.

Have tried celery so many times. It always failed and took up space I could have used for some other crop.
I have however raspberries, strawberries, and black and red currants which I would'nt be without.
have made my own jam from these fruits every year and its so worth it.
So if you have the space, go for it and good luck with all your growing.

It might help if told us how many of each plant you plan on growing.
