  • chitting JA?

    i got given a plastic bag with some JAs in and it was left on the kitchen counter over christmas, i wen to have a look today and it looks like they've been chitted, is the normal?, if not, will it effect my crops?

    No - if you don't plant them very early they send up a shoot. Just bang them in - it means they're eager to grow!

      Plant them ASAP as they aren't a veg that likes to be stored for any length of time. One of the reasons why you don't often see them in garden centres.

        I would just plant them Cwipnip. They're about indestuctible .

          I have some stored in my fridge from last year (still perfect, so far as I can tell) - they are going in the ground very shortly

            bought mine reduced in waitrose cause they were shooting.............result

                    You get used to it vegmandan. If they say PSB they mean Purpel Sprouting Broccoli. It only seems to happen with things that take a long time to type!
