  • Celeriac - why purple bits inside?

Currently making our way through our celeriac crop and was wondering why there are vividly purple 2-4mm splodges of colour inside our otherwise cream coloured root? Are these dangerous? They are towards the outside rather than the middle.

Well done for growing some celeriac to a size worth eating! I've noticed purple before; it seems to be where the roots were. Don't think it's a problem.
