  • Buying tomato plants

I normally grow from seed and give some to mum for her GH, she finds the cordons a bit of faff now so I'm thinking bush types and tumblers for outside .
I have bought the odd plant from GC but wondering about buying plugs online?
.....or does anyone have a recommendation to look out for in a GC for producing plenty little toms?

    Thanks

You can't beat 'Tumbler' for a heavy cropping basket/container tom.

I know a few people don't rate the taste but last year we had 2 red and 2 yellow Tumbling Toms in 16in hanging baskets. The red were OK but the yellow ones were lovely.

It does depend on personal taste though.

p.s I still have half a freezer full of the little critters as they were so productive even the neighbours shrieked when they saw me holding a bag of yet more toms.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

I'd be reluctant to buy online. Maybe look @ BnQ or H0mebase.

I bet it won't be long before you local allotments have their sales. I think we had ours around May time.

That's a shame cos you could have found some real bargains.

Wish our site had an allotment sale. May mention this as a suggestion when I see the committee members this weekend
