  • Brown patches on Italian parsley

My parsley seems to have developed brown patches, almost like it's been burnt. It's in the same container as thyme and oregano and they're growing like wildfire. Should I be worried?

Maybe it has been burned. Is it flat leaf parsley. If it was wet and the sun shone on it it could get scorched. Wouldn't show up on the oregano and thyme as they have very small leaves.

Is this inside or outside? And where in the garden? Could be two things, it rains and then the sun comes out and leaves scorch. Also, it rains and we have a cold night and the leaves scorch, and/or it could be the wind.

It's outside in a container on the wall. I hadn't noticed the brown patches until yesterday but with all the rain and then brilliant sunshine I guess they could have got burned. Will it still be OK to use?

Yes Doggler, your parsley will be fine. Just cut off the browned leaves. The new leaves wll be fine.

Sounds like leaf scorch to me too - my basil has it as do several of my flowering plants - they all recover no problem.
