  • Broccoli and cauliflower, differences?

I mean before you can see the head! I think I bought some broccoli plants but I can't remember! However the stems are purple which makes me think it's broccoli?

Umm not a great expert but my observation this year was Cauli's tend to look like cabbages wide leaves before they head up.

Boccoli seems to have longer thinner leaves that fan out and seems to stand taller, but that might be the fact I didn't plant them deep enough..

    Not sure if it helps.

    How old the plants?

I am banking on the purple stems too....I had seed trays of PSB, cauliflowers and sprouts on the shelf of my plastic greenhouse and the wind got up and you can imagine the rest! I have since planted them all out, but they all look the same except for what I assume is the PSB. Other than that its a bit of a wait and see job!
