I think the problem is that you are growing them indoors I have one plant indoors and the flowers on that are doing the same as yours.
I also have a loads in the ground outside and the flowers are turning black on them but they have been pollinated by the various insects like bees ants etc. The problem with growing indoors is that you dont have the prolific insect life to pollinate the flowers so they die off without getting pollinated.

The flowers do look nice but they dont last too long before dying off and if they die before getting pollinated then you dont get any beans.

The flowers shrivel and turn black after they are pollenated. Or are yours turning black before the flowers fully form?

Why are you growing broad beans in the greenhouse? They are hardy outdoor plants, and do much better in open ground.

                Hi Rustylady

I only have 2 plants in the greenhouse, I have another 6/7 down the allotment, i suppose i am keeping 2 back just in case the 6/7 get eaten.

Put them outside, they will be much happier.

Phew, I'm glad I found this, I thought my broad beans were dying. How long from flowers turning black to beans being ready to pick?
