  • Borlotto beans havesting / storage

My beans have developed on the plants now, probably
    5 or 6 inches long

and the seeds inside about 1/3 to 1/2 inch

The seeds are already tasty, but:

Will they grow any bigger - I dont want them to go past their best?

How do I store them after picking them?

    TIA,
    Pete

Leave them on the plant until the pods go leathery and light beige in colour. The beans are still good to eat fresh at this stage. PIck them and let the pods dry out, they are easier to shell at this stage. Leave the shelled beans on a flat tray to dry completely then store in paper bags. If you store them in a sealed glass or plastic you run the risk of mould if even one of the beans is not 100% dry.
