  • Autumn planted onions in, erm, spring?

I finally got around to tidying up my poly tunnel today and found a bag of Senshyu onions I forgot to plant. Oops, muppet. Wondering what to do with them. Plant em in spring? Or maybe in modules indoors now and into the tunnel when sprouted until spring then plant them out? Got quite a few but could probably manage it. Not sure what's best. Perhaps neither

I'd just plant them. What do you have to lose?

My spade The ground is frozen solid. Snapped my fork today as well To be honest I did actually think I may as well just plant them.

What Can the Man says. They won't grow if you don't plant 'em

I have seen these planted outdoors around Christmas time by another plot holder and they finished up with better onions than mine which were planted in October.

Yep - as Snadger said, there's a guy near me who plants on Boxing Day every year and has great onions! I think he does it as an excuse to get out of the house!
