I thought I'd dug my trench deep enough, but I don't think I have. My (still the only one) spear is growing at a rate of an inch a day as far as I can tell, and I've earthed as far as the top of the trench, and am now trying to stack the soil around it (what a pro, eh?).
How 'buried' should the emerging spears be?
I could build edging around it, and up the soil level, but I've realised that I don't know at what point I stop earthing up.
Any help, as usual, most gratefully received.
