  • Anyone grown Adzuki beans before?

    Hi

Has anyone grown adzuki beans before? Ive got some seeds and would like to know if you get a good enough crop to make it worth while growing them.

    Cheers Chris

I had some in amongst the set of sprouting seeds I bought from T&M last year - I had thought of letting some go way beyond the sprouting stage as an experiment.

aduki/adzuki beans come from China/Japan. They are similar (in requirement) to soyabeans or chickpeas, which also do not thrive in a UK climate.
Try growing some for fun, but don't expect a huge crop.

Better as sprouting seeds than actually trying to grow a crop from them I would have thought.

Tried and tested: this year's long hot summer gave me a small crop of aduki beans (it was a bit more than this, but not a huge yield)

The seed was supermarket eating beans, from the health food section
