i was sorting through my seeds and came across a packet of broad bean (Valencia) seeds - am I too late to have a go at growing them? Thanks for any advice. I'm a beginner btw only grown potatoes, garlic and herbs before

Just sown mine in root trainers yesterday.
Feed the soil, not the plants.

Only reason for growing them early (other than having an early harvest ) is that later on they tend to get infested with Blackfly, and the solution for that is to pinch the tips out - which then stops the plants growing any more.

Wow thanks for all your replies - and so quick too. Thats great news that Im not too late. I have created an allotment in my garden its very much a work in progress. I have bought so many seeds it all a bit overwhelming. I have a slab base to finish for my greenhouse and then a greenhouse to put together but its one of those click system ones so hopefully I will manage it. My reluctant gardening husband will help ! Thank you for such a warm welcome

I like broad beans and sow three times a year. Some at the weekend, some at the start of May and some more 3-4 weeks later. Also the early greenhouse plot crop.
