  • advice for a newbie please!

    Hello

Looking for a bit of advice. I have a newly created veg garden with raised beds. I was lucky enough to inherit a asparagas bed when we bought the house but everything else had been abandoned as the former owners moved to an allotment.
We now have bed 1 - peas, beans and a sneaky row of radish
bed 2 - Winston spuds and a sneaky row of radish
bed 3 - kale, chards and spinach (no radish)
bed 4 - Mizuna, green and red cocarde lettuce
bed 5 - Carrots, leeks and where the spring onion seeds failed I have just sown some florence fennel
bed 6 - Brussels, turnip, celeriac, swede, parsnip and a few PSB
bed 7 - Tomatoes and Kuri squash and also currently a sort of seed bed for cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli
bed 8 - Tomatoes and courgettes
And a quite a few of those reseable bags with various bits and pieces in!
Am having a wonderful time and I keep finding more lovely seeds hence all these plastic tubs appearing!

I know I have made a couple of mistakes mixing my roots and brassicas up a bit but my question is, once the potatoes have been lifted, can I put in the cabbage, caulis and broccoli from the seed bed?
I was going to put in some garlic, onions and broad beans for autumn/winter planting. Is there anything else I can put in and which bed is best?
    Soooo many questions! Thank you!

Brassicas like a firm bed and an alkaline one.
Spuds like more acidic soil, and when you dig them up the soil will be loose & fluffier.

Sort the soil out, and you'll be fine.
