Can you post how you make your teas if you get a minute. Not tried making one yet so it would be a great help to read what works for you.

I don't make teas. I make comfrey juice by packing as much comfrey as I can into an airtight container with a tap on the bottom (I use a bokashi bin), put a brick on top and seal the container then wait until it starts producing the concentrate. The concentrate needs to be diluted as it's a lot stronger than regular teas.

The other thing I do make is my jungle juice. I pack all the perennial nasty weed roots into a bucket, stick a brick on top, cover with water then put the lid on and leave it for a couple of months. Thins like nettle, bindweed, dock, dandelion that you wouldn't throw in the compost. Like any of these infusion teas, try and open it when a gale force wind is blowing the smell away from you.

My method is simple and works for both. I get a bucket with a lid, stuff it with the leaves, put a brick in top of the leaves and then top up with water so that it covers the leaves and put lid in bucket. Let it rot down for 4-6 weeks and then strain off the liquid into containers. The resulting concentrate then requires dilution until it looks like weak tea (approx 10:1 ratio). DO NOT GET THE LIQUID on your hands/clothes as it stinks. I got it on my hands and almost vomited all day with the smell!!!!

Here are a couple of links re Comfrey Pipes & Comfrey

I did have separate Nettle & Comfrey butts and used Christmas Chocolate plastic tins as tea bags for the nettles, the lids are cable tied on.

Now I have moved the nettle water butt to my other plot to be used as a comfrey on draft butt. I'm going to make more weed tea this year, normally I just use buckets and drown them and add the sieved water to my comfrey water butt.

I really don't think I could handle the stench... my plot is a place of respite and a positive sensory experience...

Plus I'm quite near a house on the corner. Don't want to aggravate the neighbours...

Topped up the nettle bag in my plant feed ( tea ) yesterday, I think it's getting there. It's a nice dark green colour and stinks. The dog likes it , kept licking the juices that ran out the bottom of the nettle bag!!! .............disgusting!

It's got a couple more weeks to mature before I need to start using it.
It's like a grown up version of making mud pies when you were a kid, all quiet unpleasant but very satisfying
