Thanks, Looks like frost is forecast for next few days as is colder temperatures. Just wish we could get some nice warmer weather :-( New greenhouse and first year of growing anything and the weather just seems awful.Comment

Ive put some of my marigolds that are flowering (sowed Jan) on the table outside today for the bees but they’re coming in soon. We’ve got some low overnight temps forecast,do the leaves go a bit red when they get too cold,it happened to me once so I bring them all in at night to harden them off gently. Are you potting them on into separate pots you’ll get more flowers & plant size,they look really good.Location : EssexComment

To be honest I don't know anything about Marigolds or how big they grow. I only sowed them to go next to my Tomato plants in greenhouse, Though I want to plant some in borders and hanging baskets. They can go in their own 3 inch pot,one per pot,until planting out time

I sowed this marigold in January it’s quite big now,potted it on into a three inch pot first,now it’s in a five inch pot before going out into a bigger pot or straight in the ground.

That is beautiful and quite a size. I'm just wondering if I take them off the windowsill and put them on a kitchen bench near to the window will they still grow as I need my windowsill for my heated propagator. I could always put in greenhouse during day and bring them back it at night until frost goes away. What would you suggest.Comment

Yes greenhouse in the day,bring them inside early evening depending how warm it is. I use a little blowaway when it’s warm enough I don’t have a greenhouse,after a couple of weeks or so it might be warm enough to leave them out there permanently,but still keep a check on overnight temperatures. Sometimes I have to bring all my plants in the house & crowd them by the door ready to go out in the morning but better all over the floor than out in the cold
