  • Leaky hose

Hi, I am looking for some advice on a leaky hose, I am planning to put a leaky hose in my polytunnel for while I am on holiday my question is how far dose the water spread as I have four foot beds and was thinking of one hose down the middle of each bed. Will the plants at the edge get enough water if any at all.

Hi Jaymac, it's best to 'snake' the hose like a big squiggle down the length of the bed, that way everything will get some moisture. If it won't stay put, weigh it down with bricks.

My polytunnel beds are a bit narrower than 4' and I have buried porous pipe in them which goes along one side, loops around and down the other. Works well but I tend to use it for back ground watering and then give a really good watering can soak when I go up there.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
