    The ingredients for a good polytunnel!

    So I know the theory of building your own polytunnel - I have found the various suppliers for the plastic, but would like advice on the type of metal poles and size and the size of tubing for the hoops. Some say scaffold poles - but that seems a bit big?!! (only looking at a tunnel, 5mx3.5ms ish)

    Also might be a good time to post your polytunnel pics and make me jelous!

      Scaffolding poles may seem big, but even with a smallish tunnel the wind forces can be tremendous. I suppose the next step down would be some galvanised conduit in either 25 or 32mm and use pipe to suit.

        Hi mine has scaffolding size tubes set into concrete and when a good storm is blowing the noise and energy that hits the tunnel is Incredible - at that point I am pleased I opted for the more robust tubes.
