  • Greenhouse shading

Can anyone give me some advice on the greenhouse to shade [spray on ] or not to shade. I just grow the usual toms /peppers /melons and cucumbers. Have put shade on in past seasons but this year it has been that wet a lot of the time I never put any on. How and when would you decide to shade or not.
    Thanks for any help.
    Bob.

Bob I use Debris netting ( or you could use net curtains) clipped to the apex with large bulldog clips that way its easy to take down in dull weather. Hope this helps.
    Location....East Midlands.

Cucumbers and to a lesser extent melons will prefer humid shade. Peppers and tomatoes are less fussy, but debris netting is quick and easily reversable as the days draw shorter and the sun is less powewrful.

I also use net curtain clipped on with a curtain wire stretched from end go end.
Easily removed when the need arises.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
