Pam, how big is your greenhouse?

That's Parasene's biggest heater! more than enough for a 8 ft x 12 ft greenhouse. Parasene make 2 smaller ones, if you describe it as a small greenhouse, the parasene superwarm 4 is big enough (paraffin is cheaper than electricity)

To be honest I really don't know but it has to be 6ft by something. I put the heater on and it was lovely in there I think I could have slept the night there. Ok, not quite but it did warm it up lovely, so its too big then? Can I turn down the heat or will that make smoke or something?

Hi I have a two chimney heater with four wicks so only light what I need to. Most of the time I only light one as my green house is in a poly tunnel, but looking at this weekend I will be lighting all four to ward off the freezing conditions. Getting insulation is the best advice if you can section off bits of the green house - then you need less heating as the paraffin is sooooo expensive (now you can�t take bottles to the hardware shop and get them filled up!) I have got a min max thermometer off e-bay for a few pounds and that is great and makes me much more able to judge what the right balance is?

Hi

I have a greenhouse 7'4 square. I am looking at buying a paraffin heater but OH says because greenhouse as plastic panels then they will melt.

I've disagreed and told OH to stop being silly.

Can anyone settle this for us please? As well as adivce best heater if one is suitable?
