  • Seed spuds at Netto's!

Went to Netto's today and noticed they had 6 seed spuds already planted in a 6 pot tray. I have already planted my earlies but these were Charlotte which I haven't got and were only 49p so I thought I would give them a go.
When I was ready for planting them at the allotment, and after soaking the pots, I was pleased to see there was a well established root system and the growing shoots were dark green. Had to dig extra deep planting holes to facilitate the compost with potato on top and still leave them 4 inches below final soil level.
A bargain I think especially as I now have a plant module for six to use as I see fit which is worth the 49p payed for the lot!

I got some the other week, they were priced at something like 1.99 for a week or so but then i went in and they had them 50p so i got some, they did look stupid in the trays, im wondering how many people are growing them in the trays waiting for the crop?

Today they had loads of veg plug plants, 15 in a pack for 1.99 ( i think) , i got some lollo rosso as my seedlings look bad, they also had cabbage, lettuce, chillis, tomatoes and cauliflowers, not as cheap as seeds, but easier!

That made me laugh so much I choked on my wine. Wilkos had a large bag reduced from £3 to £1. Unfortunately I haven't got a lottie or large garden and so I'm trying some in flower buckets. No Netto down south.
