    I was given a new padlock by my nephew which is a siren padlock,even if you hit the hut the alarm in it is activated.Quite loud and it will make them think twice about trying to break in the other plot holders in the allotment are thinking of buying them as we were broken in to again on sunday night,but nothing stolen.There are some available on Ebay about £9-£10 plus postage

    We considered shed alarm systems when our sheds were first broken into - but since most of us live a few miles away and the plots are bordered by houses, we ended up feeling it would be unfair to have sirens going off with no-one to attend to them till the batteries ran out. Bit of a noise nuisance like car alarms used to be!
    Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

      The alarm resets its self until it is disturbed again approx 30 sec it rings for.So it will not continuously make a noise unless someone bangs the hut or tampers with the padlock

        I wonder if it'd be activated in high winds too??

          Having my "plot" in the back garden, I am lucky enough to be able to connect the garage & shed to the house wireless alarm system. It can't imagine what it is like to have a lottie, I wouldn't sleep at night.
