  • Rhubarb rhubarb

Can anyone tell me the name of the Rhubarb cultivar that comes out earlier. Its got slender deep pink stalks as though it had been forced, it's really sweet and "rhubarby" without too much of the tart acidity. Cheers Dincur

Dincur there are two that I can think of - Timperley early and Champagne. I think that's what I planted but I lost the label so I can't be sure!!

Timperly Early is what it say on the tin there used to be a field full of it about 100 yards from marley towers and if it was a mild winter some of it would be ready for pulling at the end of Febuary...jacob

Nice 1 Jacob. I recieved two clumps last year divided them up in2 9, and only two grew. Should've just bunged them in the ground as they were. We were raised on rhubarb and I had begun to hate 'til I had that var. last year. Thanks again Din

Dincur I found the label the other day when pulling a few stems - yes it's Timperley Early!! Stays tender and non-stringy for a long time!
