I was in homebase yesterday as it's their 2 day 15% off everything sale. I was dressed in my work clothes so didn't want to be lugging around bags of compost so I checked with the assistant to find out when it was due to finish and I happened to say I would be back tomorrow to stock up on compost. He told me that he had just been sorting out the compost and they had a number of damaged bags that he had just put into clear bags and they would be half price plus the 15% off!! Well, I wasn't going to walk away from that bargain, work clothes or not! So I got 5 x 60l bags at £1.61 each and 3 x 120 bags at £2.55 each.
The loveley assistant even loaded them on to a trolley for me, took me through the checkout and put them in the car for me. And I have to say I don't think any of the bags had any contents missing, just split bags.
So, look out for damaged bags and grab yourself a bargain!
