My local Dobies has a large wooden recycling bin for plant pots in the car park. I don't think this is a new thing? I've been helping myself over the weekend. Like to do my bit for the environment.

I got some really nice big containers from my Wyvale last year - just wish they would put a sign on the bin to say 'help yourself'. After asking the first time I know its OK to help myself to what I can use - but I wonder how many folk have looked enviously at this great facility and were too shy to ask?Comment

i know i have my local wyvale have had a bin with wooden crates in (that patatoes come in) but ive always been unsure if to help myself will ask next time.Comment

That would encourage people not to buy Dobies overpriced pots - great shop, always more expensive than elsewhere!Comment

i get all my pots from my local nhs trust from the gardeners on site last year ended up with 8 bin bags full all 4 and 6 cell trays they went down a storm on the allotment sitePRESTON NORTH END

I love a quick withdrawl from the pot bank. We grabbed loads of the pot holders for our plant sale and gave them away when people purchased plants from us.
