  • Caterpillars

Have been growing lettuce radish and turnips and I go out every night and often during the day to pick all of the butterfly eggs off. (They are under cloche but it keeps blowing off despite being dug in the ground!) last night I went to bed with a lovely lettuce patch this morning I woke up and it was gone! When I inspected the other plants I found hungry green caterpillars all over them, where'd they come from!? Ive picked them all off now but any tips for keeping them at bay would be great
    Thanks

I recommend using netting combined with the visual inpsections, but even then the butterflies find their way in.

You need to use butterfly mesh, and pin it down all the way round. Plus hand-picking every week, because some will still get through
