Mice are opportunistic eaters and will nibble at everything to see if they like it but then may never go back to it for more.

What are you going to do with the mice once you've caught them?

Apparently mice hate peppermint - I keep a bottle of peppermint oil in my shed and leave saturated bits of cotton wool about.

It sounds awkward having a mouse to rehome,I'd end up having a pet mouse or something,it would need food at its new field or it will starve & be lost,is there a cheese factory nearby with bins overflowing with cheese? Slug pellets are poison to mice & can affect birds like owls that eat the mice & get secondary poisoning,dogs have eaten slug pellets too,they smell attractive to all unfortunately.

Can't keep them as a pet as it's an offence to take an animal from the wild.

And they don't like cheese! It's a popular misconception.

There is a field on the other side of the road so I will be putting the little mouse there. There is other wildlife that is in that field to.

There is other wildlife in the field I will take it to. It's just a shame that work men have destroyed there home to build houses.
