Hi All
I have to say I quite like the idea of some help, my soil is horrible its basically clay and my plants don't do very well so I have opted for raised beds and adding my own soil. But last year I bought some Carbon Gold Seed compost and my little seed tomatoes did really well and my runner beans. I used some soil improver as well when planting them out and I had the biggest bumper crop of beans ever ...I think that may have been a little to do the massive amounts of rain to but they were perfect with my Sunday lunches.
The product is a little bit more than bog standard product but I used it really sparingly so it went a long way and seemed to do the trick. I am trying sweetcorn this year for the first time so am going to try the same trick to see if they do well....
Oh and I am PEAT free all the way baby !! Save the planet while you can!! I salute you Carbon Gold for that choice to!
While I am here I have a conference pear tree that had some type of horrid disease last year my fruit went all black with cracks and hard it was nasty... Any advice on what I could do with it or is it best to chuck it out....It does not look as if it is going to bud this year either....does not look healthy like the year before last.....Can we have a fruit EXPERT PLEASE ??? Help!

If you post your fruit query on the Feeling Fruity board, you'll find that the Vine already has quite a few friendly 'experts' in that area who will be happy to help you out if they can
