  • Growing strawberries in a grow house

Hi all, has anyone had a go at growing strawberries in a wooden grow house? You can buy them a bit cheaper now about£40. Was thinking of trying some strawberry in there.

    Good idea or not?

    Many thanks Steve.

Strawberries need a bit of cold in the winter. If you want to get early strawberries plant them in pots and move them into the grow house in about Feb. and you will get them earlier. This is what I did with mine and we are eating them now. There are other things that would be more profitable to grow under cover.

I tend to pot up some of the current years Strawberry runners, then put them in the greenhouse in December and usually start getting a crop mid April.
Depends how big the growhouse is, but you could grow Tomatoes or Aubergines. Depends what what veg you like really.
