  • Sprouting broccoli

My broccoli has done well and is now about 4ft Hugh and has gone to seed, lovely yellow flowers, I have been chopping these off, and it's still producing more spears, how long will this continue, and as its gone to seed should I now remove the plants! The butterfly's have also crept in when I wasn't looking.

    Thanks.

I carry on eating my spears for as long as possible, DottyR. There does come a point when it doesn't seem worth it as they get thinner and thinner! But they still taste good, even if the rest of the plant is flowering. I'm collecting the seed this year. I've cut the plants back and just left some big central sprays of seedpods.
