yup, like little red apples...there is a point, I'm not just posting to agree with people who have already said they are.
I've trawled the net lately to find some kind of followable [ yes I made the word up] recipe for spiced/herbed crab apple jelly. No luck at all except vague amounts etc. Then, yesterday, when I was reading the jekkas herb book thingy to write down my list of wanted herbs, i flick to the back to find, lo and behold, recipes for crab apple jelly with herbs or spices and definitive amounts. So if you do want to do something besides plain crabapple jelly, there are recipes in the back
and if you want a recipe for christmas spice crab apple jelly, I'll post it, I made it up, it looks and tastes quite nice

Been picking crab apples recently to go with my 'James Grieve's in cider, from trees growing in local hedgerows, etc. I didn't realise until now how common they were, and also how greatly the apples vary in size: some are the size of smallish domestic apples, others no bigger than rose hips or hawthorn berries.

Taff, I bought her cookbook and there are some corker recipes in there too. Which book do you have? The herb book?

yup, that's the one, managed to get it well under half price a couple of years ago but it just shows how often I look at it that i didn't realise there were recipes in the back
In my defence, I've only just become interested in growing things outside the norm, in the last year or so, as far as herbs are concerned. I spent the first few years in the garden just trying to keep up with the vegetables And now I fear I will have to have radical garden re-design along permaculture principles...uh oh....

I figured I would get that book next time - looked a good one. If you you could post the recipe I would be appreciative. I'll have a look through mine and see if there's anything seasonal to post. Just got to finish my leaf mold cage building as per GYO mag. So much for resting.
