  • pumpkin help needed please

I am growing an aladdin pumpkin, at the moment its green and it has a small
    hole in it,on the underneath.

What I'm wondering is, is that ok? Its roughly the size of a 5p maybe a bit smaller. If it was a slug, will it be inside the pumpkin now, this morning I put a bit of kitchen roll over the hole and put some tape over it (only a bit) just to try and discourage visitors.

Not really sure if Ive done the right thing? The other question is when will it change colour, I was late putting it into the ground. I will try to add a pic, but if I can't, the pumpkin is like a fat marrow, 80cm around the tummy, 56 cm long from stalk to blossom end.

Any pumpkin advice will be welcome. Its the first one Ive managed to grow, but Im not sure what Im doing. Thanks!

The fruit is damaged, which means rot will get in and it won't store.

Eat it as soon as it's ready (just cut the slug out)
