  • how to grow monkey nuts

    i bought a cheap growing kit but has no real instructions the seeds have grown but does anyone know if i plant them outside or in a pot in the greenhouse

    Hi Mick and welcome to the madhouse, as for your nuts I havnt got a clue !

    Someone will be along in a mo with an answer, whats your location ?
    You have to loose sight of the shore sometimes to cross new oceans

      Maybe a very sunny corner in the garden, in the greenhouse even better I would suggest.

        I bought some for my son,he has grown them on his bedroom windowsill and they are doing great,he has a few little yellow flowers now

          I started some off again this year from 'raw' monkey nuts for eating.

          Lovely flower bucket broken through to 'green' in just a week (great for big kids like me!).

          Sun lounge position now but will place outside when/if the warmer weather comes!

            sounds like a pot would be best
            any ideas when they are ready to dig up?

              They are supposed to need 5 months of sunshine to ripen - I hope you get it!

                I used to grow them in the greenhouse, never got them to produce any fruit in the ground.

                Fun to watch them grow.
