  • Strawberries in containers

Can strawberries be grown in containers? I have been given 6 plants and wondered if they have to be planted in the ground... I have limited space and all of it is allocated to other produce.

    Thanks

Yes you can. It protects them somewhat from slugs too, but watch they don't dry out. Ordinary multi-purpose compost is fine.

I grow all mine in containers and they're fine, just make sure that you feed and water plenty.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I have about 8 plants in one of those herb pots and had a great crop last year and have 2 troughs of them too and again the crop was good as the palnts were small. The good thign is you can move them about if you need to and easier to control pests and easy to cover with netting.

Great, Thanks... I am intending to get a few troughs tomorrow to plant them in.
