  • Germinating parsnips tip

Just read this in a magazine and thought I would share, sorry if this has already been said.

Here's how I achieve a 95 per cent success rate using cigarette papers. I wrap 3 parsnip seeds in a single paper and twist it to resemble the little blue packet of salt in Smith's crisps of ten years ago (remember those?) Then I make a drill, place the papers 6 inches apart and wait to see the results. You'll be amazed.

Anyone tried this, could it be used for other seeds?

Let us know how you get on, sounds like an interesting idea. Does the paper decompose quickly then, so the roots and tops can get out?

I'm sticking with my kitchen roll on the windowsill for now, but will be very interested to see how this idea works mrsc2b!
