I've got some "Carruthers' Purple Podded" from the HSL Piglet, I could let you have a few? Wouldn't want anything for them - they're last years seed, so possible they wouldn't all be viable. Could send you 5? PM your address if you fancy a go with them

I've just got 10 seeds of Lancashire Lad from HSL PW. Haven't grown them on yet of course but in the Autumn I will let you have some.

        Peas please.

Greetings... I have Purple Podded Pea from the Heritage seed list. (it's name is actually Purple Podded Pea)

I only grew them for seed last year and have saved and packet-ed them all. I was letting a few people have them and take the rest to the Potato & Seed swap day to Ryton begining Feb.

If You PM me i will let you have some.

Description from the 2007 HSL seed Catalogue.

" Purple Podded. Introduced before 1911, but dropped from the National List and donated to HSL by Member Malcolm Dryden. Produces plants of variable height with beautiful purple flowers, worthy of a place in the ornamental bed and fleshy, dark purple pods that make the perfect mange tout when immature, "tasty when eaten fresh" says's seed guardian Anne St John. The peas are also excellent for drying and cook easily once soaked.

(I personally found these to reach a height of about 5 - 5.5 ft.)

Don't suppose you have 2 seeds of the Blaby Tomato spare do you..?

Hi, I've got some Golden Sweet Yellow Podded Mange Tout Pea from The Real Seed Catalogue. I only bought these last month, so don't know what they're like, but there's quite an interesting review here Daughter of the Soil: Heritage vegetable review
Pea: Golden Sweet
PM me if you fancy a try

Just checked through my seed box (any excuse!) and found I also have some Champion Of England Peas from the Heritage Seed Library.
Didn't get round to sowing them last year, so could go halves and give you 5 seeds if that's any good.

Chiana, thats for the link, I already have bought the Golden Sweet and have just bagged some champion of england.

Seasprout, I should have put purple podded on my already grow list and actually have seed to spare of that. With regard to the blaby seed, I have had to beg some in but will send you some in the autumn.

              Flum, thanks mum.
