    Wanted: Camone Tigre

    Hello all,

    Whilst in Bologna I saw these tomatoes:

    My attempts at explaining that I'd like to grow them and would like to buy just one or two tomatoes didn't work as I speak almost no Italian. I didn't want to buy a whole tub for €6 to throw most of them away.

    A long shot I know, but has anyone got any seeds of this variety? It looks nice...

      Interesting. They seem to suggest it's a winter tomato.

      I have found this ebay listing which looks about right.

          Thank you, but these aren't the same. The ones I'm looking for are a small plum variety.

            I think Camone is the slow maturing way they're grown, the tomatoes look like Lucky Tiger

              With them being the colour they are, I'd suggest that they would most likely have thick skins, but a sweet interior.
              I love growing tomatoes.

                I have ordered the ones I saw on ebay (along with a couple of other varieties ) so we'll see what comes of them next year.

                    Have you tried Cebrino, very similar to Green Tiger (Brown/Green Stripe). I germinated seed here last month, forgetting what they were like, but pulled them when I saw the photo.

                        It was the shape that appealed to me as much as the colouring. I can imagine them tasting pointy.
