  • Wanted: Alderman or similar tall peas?

    Hi,
Does anyone have any tall peas like alderman spare? I have a bulging seed box so plenty to spare for swaps?

I am trying Alderman this year and would have offered but got beaten to it! Would like to just ask whether they are nice-tasting peas and what kind of crop you get off them please?

Hi Shirl Alderman Peas are marrowfat peas real big ones so if that is what you like these are the ones for you .
Just a little tip they grow up to 6 feet high make sure they are well supported as when they starting to fill the pods there is a fair bit of weight and they tend to hang down a bit i grow them every year i love e'm

Thanks Jacob. I don't like marrowfat peas - we prefer little sweet ones - will these be okay if I pick them early? I wish I knew what sort my grandad used to grow as they were lovely.

Hello aldernam growers! Do they mature late? Waht are the chances of growing for drying do you think? We like marrowfat peas for soups but our growing season is quite short.
