  • Tender and True Parsnip

I have loads of these, all in a bucket - that I am happy to share.

I'll never be able to grow them all, and was too late getting them to HSL this year.

If you PM me, and send an envelope to me with a large letter stamp and a label inside, I'll fill your envelope, stick the stamp and label back on and pop it in the post to you.

They are fresh and I had loads germinate on the lottie already.

Probably got enough for a good filling of 10 A5 envelopes; so if you are interested, PM me.

I've still got parsnips on my plot, but I hadn't thought they would have seeded yet. Have no idea, as I've never left any in the ground before. So are your seeds from parsnips that you planted earlier this year?

If not, when will can I expect mine to seed?

They are biennial so if sown this year, will flower and seed next year. Select the strongest roots and replant them and leave them to flower. Seeds to be ready [dry enough on the plant] around August - Sept.

That's sounds about right, thanks. Although I don't know if I've got enough space on my plot to leave many parsnips until sept.

                * jumping up and down in excitement now.
                (Earthquake reports near Heathrow!)

Why is it that there is nothing quite so exciting as seeds?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Cripes - I thought I was being a bit tight but I didn't want to overshoot to the large letter stamp!
