  • Squash seeds

    Hi I bought a squash yeasterday, small round bluey green with dark orange flesh. It tastes good. Collected all the seeds so have some spare if anyone wants some, dont know if or how they will grow?

    Only thing wrong with that, they might have come from F1 seeds, so they might not be fertile, do a germination test on them Stella to see if they...well, germinate

    If not, pop them in a hot frying pan with some honey and a sprinkling of mixed spice, they make a yummy snack.

      F1 seeds will germinate. Maybe you're thinking of some types of GM seeds that are maybe created to produce sterile seeds?

      F1 seeds won't necessarily be true to type (the children won't necessarily exhibit the same properties of the parent), however they will share at least some of the genes of the parent.
