  • Pass the Parcel Seed Swap

Alot of us may remember this last summer, and if you are new to the Vine you might not.

Two_Sheds generously started up 2 seed parcels, the idea of which was to pass it around the Vine, with everyone taking some seeds and putting more back than they took and then sending it on to the next person

We had one go astray permanently, but other Grapes valiantly donated seeds and we have ended up with several doing the Rounds.

So, firstly, a HUGE thanks to Two_Sheds again for starting this.

Since last year, when we were trying to trace the whereabouts of the parcels, Finedon Dandy has been quietly and very efficiently running this chaos, with hardly so much as a by your leave [whatever that means].

Now, Finedon is heavily pregnant with twins, and with 2 little ones running around, and a hubby to look after; she had sadly decided that much as she would love to carry on, she needs to focus her attentions to little people [no Stacey, not Gnomes - the kids].

I am going to take this over, and will be in contact with Grapes who have expressed an interest; and will restart a thread on this topic soon - so anyone wanting to go onto the list [you will be put at the end and the parcel will come to you in turn] please PM me to be added.

But - I couldn't let this just pass by without saying a humumgous thank you very much Finedon Dandy.

Along the way, Lynda66, Tricky and Shortie and possibly others that I don't know about have also made up parcels, which means we have several floating about the country [and abroad] so a huge thanks to them for donating seeds.

I am sure ALL grapes who have successfully had the parcels would like to thank Two_Sheds, Finedon Dandy, Lynda, Tricky and Shortie for their generosity and work on this, plus all the Grapes who had the parcel before them for diligently swapping and passing seeds on.

Give yourselves and each other a BIG round of applause; what seemed to go so wrong was very quickly turned around and was a great success.

If anyone wants to donate seeds for additional parcels, so that we can get more on the go, please let me know. I'll collect and combine and send it on its merry way.

So, if you are on the list, I'll be in touch.

    Over and out

Yes, the idea is to put back more than you took out, and when they get big enough we split the parcel.

I would also like to send my thanks, I felt it was my Birthday (the child in me), and so excited. I would love to join in again if another one takes off.

I'd like to add my thanks too. It was a brilliant idea, and the reality was equally brilliant - just like Christmas!

Hay wayne and Lainey - you are both on the list.

Jackie - I'm going to nab one from Phil the Shed, add my own excess seeds and split - so I'm going to PM you and if you could send excess seeds to me I'll add them to the pack.

If anyone else has excess seeds they want to donate then PM me and I'll keep making up extra parcels......I'd like to get more on the go so that more people can enjoy.

No problem Sweetie Pea, you are on the list.

I've posted a new sticky, so that Finedon doesn't get any more PMs.....and PM-ed people for addresses/current parcel location - luckily 4 Grapes contacted me last night and this morning who have the parcel and are keen to send it on so it makes things easier tying up the loose ends.

Hopefully by the end of the day I'll know where everything is and where it is going to next.

I was originally in, but was then out, having never actually been in.
Would like to be in again.
