  • How to organise a seed swap?

Talking to someone today about organising a seed swap in Oldham.

    Where do you start..?

When do you hold it? Me and andy went to one in February but I've seen one somewhere in October.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

The timing is probably the tricky bit. February seems quite popular so you could end up clashing. The other thing is that I guess you need a few people who are prepared to chuck seeds on the table so people have something to rummage in to begin with.

At the last one I went to there were a lot of home saved seeds and people simply put those in tubs and you helped yourself to as many or few as you needed into envelopes. I ended up with five different seeds in an envelope to sort out when I got home! (All different shapes.)

VC's link looks really useful - must be quite old though as John Lennon hasn't gardened for years! (pic 7 - top row.) Wonder what he was swapping in?

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!
