Default Feed back for those who swaps seeds online please

    1. Do you go back to old threads trying to find out about seeds you have from whatever swap?

    2. Would you like to see a separate post or thread that gives as much info as possible about what is swapped or something more elaborate?

I am just wondering as I am going through old threads. Trawling and struggling to get the info, but I am a little odd

    Thanks as always

Your no more odd than me NG .
I do spend a lot of time googling varieties that are in swaps. Mostly so I can draw up a short list of what's getting grown because I won't have space to grow them all. So a little more info would be handy. Pictures would be good. A lot of my choices are made based on pretty pictures

    1. Not really; like SP says I tend to google rather than go through old threads.
    2. Maybe I'm being thick but I don't really understand what you mean by this; what would you want to see?

If its VSP seeds, I'd research them before asking - usually goggle or from a recommendation on the Vine.
With Seed circle seeds, I may not grow all that come my way (sorry ) but I like to know what they are before deciding.
Threads like the Tomato review one are helpful, especially with pictures
Similarly, the Flower photos are good as they tempt me to try things.

You are not being thick at all. In one particular online place (I shan't mention the 'f' word it will upset VC) they used to list all the varieties that were swapped on a separate website. That is a bit elaborate for me but I thought it was great. Swapped seeds are often heritage/heirloom/unusual seeds and sometimes little to no info comes up on them.

So info would be as much as possible. Annual/perennial, greenhouse/outdoors, history of seeds/ original source, when to start, tips and tricks, when best to harvest etc. etc. Similar to the tomato review thread VC mentioned.

Nellie-M used to include lovely descriptions on her seeds but if you lose the packet you are likely to lose the info as many of her seeds come from seed archives abroad.

Maybe in the relevant seed circle, the donors add a writeup (with photo?) of the plant, how it grows, tastes, whatever they feel is relevant.

MarkP does that but this year he forgot to put them in his parcel

    I love the info...along with a photo.
I do a fair bit of googling but some varieties are American and their growing conditions are different.
