Default The Chilli and Pepper seed Circle 2018

Yes, I know I'm early but it will give you lot time to plan! New comers welcome, please feel free to add your name even if you've never saved seed before...you'll get lots of help along the way.

Save 1 variety of chilli with 4-6 seeds per pack. Last year we had to save 6 packs of each variety.

Please offer a variety pepper that is little interesting or unusual than your average cayenne seed - we all have a half empty pack of those in the bottom of our seed boxes...try for something a little different. We can finalise the details later on in the growing season when you have a better idea on which ones that are doing well.

Peppers and chillies are a little more difficult to save seed, they often don't fruit and they can cross with each other. You can isolate one in the house, or one in the GH, bag the plant or a flower or use the glue method.

    # Please save seed from a good source - no F1s or from plants that have been grown from seed from a chilli found in the bottom of the fridge.

Hopefully I will be in. The only plants that look ok at the moment are monkey face and a devils tongue so no telling what you'll get.

I'm definitely in for it this year with having to succumb to failure last!

As of what yet, not got a clue!

Not yet still made a decision on my grow list!

But off work next week so will get a little "Me Time"

Should I try? I failed miserably last time I tried to save seeds .

Go on! Save the seeds of the first plant that sets flowers....there's often one that will flower first!

Well yes, obviously, but you know last year I said I'd save Sugar Rush Peach, but then every flower that I bagged dropped off without setting fruit apart from one tiny shrivelled pod that didn't amount to anything. I'm growing lots of new (to me) varieties this year, but some are unstable crosses and of the rest, I have no idea yet whether I can isolate some flowers and then get pods from them.

So in theory I would be in, but it's far too early to say.
