    Is centranthus ruber (valerian) too weed-like for inclusion? I have the white one. Not sure how feasible collecting seed would be, mind you, because they all seem to blow away as soon as they are ripe. I could try using paper bags perhaps.

    You can include it. I personally love valerian and it happens to make a long lasting cut flower beasties love it too - I don't think it sounds weed like

    It's not the herb valerian, it's "red valerian" except mine is white. Curse these common names!

    although you have made me wonder now how herb valerian flowers would fair in a vase there is no hope for me

    I'd love poached egg flower seeds Elfed, they're so cute! On my old allotment site they self sow and I mixed them down a line with lavender and got so many compliments. Sadly I didn't get to save seeds as I left in late winter.
