    Yes, Father Christmas is having a day of rest, due to his high blood pressure. Just wait until you see tomorrows.

    Day 4 - VC.
    Dodecatheon meadia "Red Colours". HP packed 2015.

    "Also known as the Alpine Shooting Star, the Dodecatheon Red Wings provides an abundance of deep magenta flowers, which look like tiny birds diving in flight. Near-black to purple tips blend to yellow and then white before blending into magenta. Emerging from a clump of soft oval to egg-shaped leaves, stalks rise up to a foot above the foliage. The swept back pink petals look similar to those of a close relative: the Cyclamen. However, unlike the Cyclamen, the Dodecatheon grows in summer. Its tiny bobbing flower heads are intriguing, and the size of this plant means it is never cloying or overwhelming. The perfect addition to a woodland or rock garden. Flowers May to July. Height 30cm."

    Day 5 - VC
    Pulmonaria mollissima (2015)

    Pulmonaria = of the lungs = aka Lungwort.
    (Ye Olde Apothecaries thought it was a cure for lung disease as its spotted leaves resembles diseased lungs)

    Mollissima = very soft

    Said to be from Eastern Europe with very long (up to 2 feet),softly hairy leaves with tubular blue/violet flowers in spring.

    Here endeth today's lesson. See you in class same time tomorrow?
