Basket of fire is an F1....so try the other two.

I read recently that these empty gelatine capsules were an easy way to save seed.

Pop the capsule over the flower bud and take it off when you see the fruit forming.

Bu@@er! Now I've got to buy seeds I was going to save them for myself anyway because I've used the last of my seeds.
    Thank you Scarlet.

You could always save them and try? How’s your yellow scotch bonnet from the freezer?

    Nothing like a scotch bonnet
It's going to be interesting to see final shape, size, colour, heat & flavour

I'd say it's over 2 inches long already.

Mine is nothing like a scotch bonnet either..
Just started to fruit...much to early for a scotch bonnet too

In my experience of non isolated plants - even if the fruit looks similar, they often carry bigger fruit but dont have much taste. I’m interested to see if the heat stays with this one.

I don't know how you would get it to stay on the flower bud and I certainly don't know how you would ensure pollination. Not something I'm going to try.

At the moment I've been tickling all the flowers with the same cotton bud so nothing is isolated. Outdoors one of my baccatums is flowering now (think it's Champion but it could be Fantasy as I've lost the labels) so that might be a possibility. I'll know which variety it is once the fruits form.

    Have a read...
    Saving Chilli Pepper Seeds

You can put them on several flowers, take them off and pollinate with a cotton bud with pollen taken from other isolated flowers?

I still have 50 wedding favour bags...I wash and reuse.
