So far I am growing Bartlett’s Bonnet, Bulgarian Carrot, Burkina Yellow, Filius Blue, Nigel’s Outdoor, Nosferatu, Padron, Purple Jalapeno, Trepadeira Werner, and seeds from what £land billed as a habanero, but what I think is a jalapeno. i liked it anyway, though that one won't go in the swap as its parentage is wobbly.

Padrons, Bartlett's Bonnet, Burkina Yellow and Trepadeira Werner are up and waving, so the race is on to get flowers & fruit.

    Question

Iíve never saved seed before but would love to give it a go both for myself and to join in, I am growing cayenne which I know youíll all have but Iíve also got: Trinidad Perfume & Havana Gold? If these are any good?

When saving chilli and pepper seed, you need to take measures before the plant bears fruit as you need to avoid cross pollination.
Before the flowers open, the plant needs to be isolated,eg: in the house where no other chilli/pepper plants are growing. The plant needs to be bagged with a bag made from insect protection fabric - net curtains work, or you can bag the unopened flowers with wedding favour bags.

Look at the link on my opening post #1
It isn't as difficult or as troublesome as it sounds. Have a read and come back with any questions, everyone starts somewhere, we are happy to help.

My short list for possible saving ( depending on how well the isolation goes ).

    Peter pepper orange
    Basket of fire
    Dorset Naga

( let me know if any of them are f1. I don't think they are )

I have 3 monkey face chillies forming so provided nothing goes horribly wrong they should be in the circle. Before anyone panics they are overwintered plants.

I really hope that I can save seed from my overwintered Trinidad scorpion, no sign of flowers at all at the moment.
