I will be saving Rapunzel seeds as well.
Are you growing any that aren't F1 for this circle?

    Default Ah I join in....

I'd like another try this year please.

I won't reveal my selections just yet, as I've some heritage seeds that may or may not be viable. Some USA types.

If they germinate ok then I'll compile a list.

tbh right now I don't even know which varieties I'll be growing - let alone which I'll save seed from

With 22 flower buckets there will be many non F1's gown, but any for the circle will be isolated in the greenhouses and hopefully I shall have three operative greenhouses next season.

Last year was the first time I saved seeds & it's alright,I'l always do it now. I kept getting blossom end rot on my orange banana tomatoes in pots, watering twice a day (during the hot spells) helps but I'm going to try them in the ground this year to keep the roots wetter than they would be in a pot,or add a load of used tea bags to the bottom of the pot to hold water I don't know it was such a shame though, hope it doesn't happen to yours!!

Me neither but it's good to plan with saving a couple of varieties in mind.

Cadalot......There's plenty of lovely varieties to choose from that aren't f1..you've just got a load of varieties from last years circle.

JJ, I've grown orange banana for years and so has Nellie M, both of us have had blossom end rot just once - when we grew in pots!! I'll only grow them in the ground. They are big thirsty plants.
