We have perfect conditions for growing them, we just don't have them for drying :@)
Besides, having recently stopped, I'm not going to help anyone else keep going

I have grown a couple of plants this year but don't know how to dry them.

cut the leaves, tie them up in bundles by the stalks, hang them in a garage or somewhere like that

it's better to cure the tobacco - get a better flavour - google "curing tobacco" - you don't *need* a fermenting cabinet or anything, you can sweat the leaves under a carpet etc, does the same job but takes longer - or just use the dry leaves as they are ....

Hmmm I dont think this is for me, but would be interested to know what your plants look like.

I grew some Golden Virginia this year from last years saved seed.
They are quite pretty plants and have nice pink flowers.
I am quite keen to grow something different next year (I don't smoke, I just like plants!)

Ahh pleased to see there's a few of us out there! The plants grow really well over here! they can get quite tall and have pretty pink / white flowers and big leaves. you can also use them to make an organic pesticide. I shall see if I've got some photos I can post for those interested. The plants definitely don't poison the soil though I don't suppose anyone has grown the havana type and has some extra seed left over??

I don't have any Havana seeds but I found this website which is really cheap, it's not English but not too hard to work out. P&P is €2

    http://www.semillas.de/

Select Tabak-Samen (in Brown writing on the left hand side)

They are also on the Spanish site (click the Spanish flag) if thats a better language for you?

There is an English version of the site but at the moment it only lists the 650 varieties of Peppers (sweet and hot)

Can't get the link to work to the actual product, probably too long!
